Taiga was a creative cluster that in 2011 settled down on Dvortsovaya embankment, 20, five minutes walk from the Hermitage, at the very heart of St.Petersburg, Russia. Since then it has become the favourite place for young professionals in creative industries and their like-minded associates. A cafe, a print shop, design and architect studios, showrooms, fashion and industrial design stores all were set in a 18th century mansion with a courtyard for a meeting and resting place. The White Hall, being the largest indoor space, housed various events – contemporary art exhibitions of Russian and international artists, concerts, screenings, markets, workshops and lectures about design, urbanism, environmental studies and culture.
For the 6 years Taiga cooperated with and became a platform for projects organized with the support of Netherlands Institute, Goethe Institute and General Consulate of Israel in St. Petersburg, Aurora Fashion Week shows, events of Hermitage XXI Century Foundation, Boomfest, Cyberfest, etc.
On September 2017 Taiga was forced to cease it’s work. Now team of the creative space is looking for a new place for the project.
